“ALL THE RIGHT REASONS” PARTNERSHIP FOR AFRICA
In 2008, LFA partnered with imagine1day in support of the Hintalo Education and Livelihood Improvement Project in Ethiopia. The Project focuses on improving the overall quality of life for children in target communities by simultaneously improving the quality of education and increasing community incomes through agriculture and agro-forestry activities. In early 2009, LFA approached the Glowbal Restaurant Group and found an instant alignment in our overall approach and objectives to supporting vulnerable populations in Africa.
LFA, imagine1day and GLOWBAL are proud to present the inaugural event "All the Right Reasons".
LUNDIN FOR AFRICA
Lundin for Africa (LFA) is the philanthropic arm of the Lundin Group of Companies. LFA was founded in 2006 by the Lundin family, with a view to contributing toward improvements in the lives of Africa's most impoverished and vulnerable populations. The Lundins are resource entrepreneurs who have enjoyed considerable success in Africa and have recognized the need to ensure that benefits are shared with local communities. Working together with Canadian and international NGOs, LFA supports a long-term, vertically integrated approach to poverty alleviation built on four pillars: capacity building and training; agricultural livelihoods; financial services for the poor, and; private sector development. LFA’s work in private sector development has culminated in the establishment of Canada’s first Social Venture Capital Fund focused on West Africa.

Launched in 2007 with an endowment created by the founders of lululemon athletica inc., Chip and Shannon Wilson, imagine1day is an implementing organization that builds community schools and brings quality primary education to thousands of children in Ethiopia each day. After learning about the global need for improving access to quality primary education, Chip and Shannon felt they could have the greatest impact by working in Africa. imagine1day's program activities include the construction of schools, water points and latrines, the provision of furniture, supplies and teacher training as well as income generating activities such as fruit tree planting and micro-irrigated community gardens. imagine1day’s underlying objective is to leave a community knowing that it has the human and financial capacity needed to maintain and improve its school for years to come.
